View Full Version : Random popups with IE possible virtumonde

While browsing with IE I get pop ups for no reason. I have tried a few spy ware detectors and anti virus programs and yet I still have issues with IE. I was experiencing the same thing with Firefox until I uninstalled Firefox and deleted my user profile. After I reinstalled firefox I no longer had the issue. I also get a c++ buffer overrun issue as well with IE.
Any help would be appreciated. Also while doing the scans with antivirus / spyware tools I came across a few viruses and spyware some one of which was virtumonde. I think I have removed it but I am still having issues. Here is my HIJACK this log file:

After doing some searching and reading other threads. I ran Kaspersky online scan. I saw these 3 files
C:\WINDOWS\system32\hxpxlkjt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kiocgdkm.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ssqro.dll

associated with virtumonde. I loaded avenger and set up the script to delete the files on startup. After I started up hijack this, found the DLL that was launching hxpxlkjt.dll and delted it from the registry. I disabled system restore and renabled as to clear out the viruses floating around through the restore points. It seems to be working fine now. Don't know why other anti viruses were not picking this up.
