Torpig + Virtumonde

Hi, my friend's computer is infected by these 2 things.
For Torpig, it can't be removed.
For Virtumonde, it keeps on coming back after it is removed although I have disconnected the computer from internet.
I found the file related to Torpig, but I can't delete it because it is in used.
I have tried to tun spybot during the start up but still Torpig can't be removed.

Somebody tells me to format the computer, but I don't know how to format it. Besides, we prefer not to format it because there are many school files and other files also confidential files in the computer. And we don't have place to store all those files.

Can anybody please help us with this?
