There were two problems. One, if the scan was stopped the video would go upon closing the program.

If the scan was allowed to run untill it finished I would get the program performed an illegel operation message. Details:

SPYBOTSD caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 017f:bff7289d.

Stack dump:

So I reinstalled 1.4, or at least tried to. I discovered the installer would not down grade the newer version. (I should have uninstall first. I didn't.) What I did was delete the main program and then re-ran the install program for 1.4. Everything seems to work ok now.

And the teatimer is still the 1.5 fixed version.

My OS is Windows 98SE, cpu is a Celeron 900Mhz, memory 256Mb. The video card is an intel chip set on the mother board.

The computer is an HP 7920 (2001 model). It came with Windows Me. And has for it an XP sp1 upgrade for it (not yet installed.)

[I still have the Me OS, just not using that hard drive.]

Untill the problem cause is discovered. I will stick with version 1.4 for now.

My suspicion is the cause might be a resource use issue. Ref 1% system free 1.5.2 versus 1.4 with at 12% system resouces free. And that there had been Kernel32.dll problem with the Internet Explorer [in the past with only 32Mb] and had to do with the video accelerator setting being too high. [Same Windows 98SE OS and hard drive, different drivers on a different computer - 32Mb on 133Mz Pentium system] This would make sense. But I really don't know that is the cause of the problem.

Actual free memory was much much better than the 1% system resources shown.

My current system has 254Mb (256Mb RAM. with Video sharing)
