Trojan Downloader....?

I have been running the search and destroy for the past few days and finally got the scans to say that it got rid of all nine infections that i originally had. But i still can't change my home page and until recent other scans (HJT/Kapersky) i was was getting fruad popups to download a program to get rid of malware. I tried to do the search and destroy scan in "safe mode" after the Kapersky and HJT scan, but at about (26000/109940)ish, my computer would completely turn off all together. In normal mode the scans came back clean. I will post the Kapersky and HJT logs. Please bear with me as I am fairly illiterate when it comes to virus stuff! Thanks for now!

Thanks, but it is hard to troubleshoot when you do not know what problems are the results of the multiple antivirus programs. Did you read the links that explain what can happen?

You still have Symantec/Norton running from both processes and services:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\
C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\

and you also have C:\Program Files\Sophos\Sophos Anti-Virus\ running. Chose one antivirus program to run and uninstall all others in Add Remove programs. When this is done post a new HJT log so we can proceed.

Sorry for my misunderstanding. I uninstalled Sophos and i found that my Norton Antivirus had expired, so rather than renew it i just reinstalled the AVG again for free.

I am pretty sure i have gotten rid of Sophos, Norton, and Symantec. There is no sign of them in the "Remove Programs" and when I go into my common files, Symantec doesn't appear to be there even though it appears to still be on the HJT log. So I am not sure if it is completely uninstalled or not, but here is the latest HJT log. Sorry again and thanks for your patience.

After we clean the infection the next C:\rapport.txt may have a hosts file in it that is very large with items starting like this: 127.0.0.1 What I would like you to do is edit those hosts file items if they are there before you post the C:\rapport.txt, I do not need to see them.

Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

I wasn't exactly sure what you meant by this:
"After we clean the infection the next C:\rapport.txt may have a hosts file in it that is very large with items starting like this: 127.0.0.1 What I would like you to do is edit those hosts file items if they are there before you post the C:\rapport.txt, I do not need to see them."

But the recent C:\rapport.txt does have a number of "127.0.0.1" items. It was too big to post on here. Is this what you meant that you do not need to see?

The report will be C:\rapport.txt on your C:\ drive. Open the notepad and highlite all items starting with 127.0.0.1 and then press your delete key. Then copy/paste the balance of the information which should take only one post.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

If you have no problems with those instructions, then let's do this.

1) C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Norton AntiVirus\Quarantine\ <<< delete the contents of NAV quarantine

2) Remove Smitfraudfix from your computer

3) Empty the Recycle Bin on your Desktop

4) Restart the computer

5) Run a last Kaspersky Scan using these setting to be sure nothing hides from us.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here. <<< I do not need to see a clean scan just let me know if all is well

I ran the ATF cleaner but I'm havin a little trouble on the next step. I don't appear to have an "Application Data" folder under my "All Users" file. And I couldn't follow the steps from your link because I couldn't find Norton AntiVirus on my computer. Sorry for this delay!

I do not know if Symantec hides that folder or not, make sure all files and folders are visible:

Unless that folder has been deleted since the Kaspersky scan was run, that folder is where Kaspersky says it is. Try using Search Companion to search for it.

I unlocked the files by following the steps from the link you showed me and i got as far as the Norton AntiVirus file but there is no Quarentine file in there. I dunno if I somehow deleted it when I was trying to remove Norton maybe?

Ever since we made these changes my video driver has been occaisonally failing while i'm playing poker, and I have to restart my computer to fix it. Any idea why this might be happening?

No idea, we made no changes in the video driver, but the malware may have, no way of telling. My suggestion would be to go to the wesite of your video card and look for an update for your driver. You might also try a forum that deals with that hardware like this one:
