I have downloaded 1.5.2 and now want to know if I go control panel/addremove / and remove the pld S&D?:)

It's up to you really. You can install 1.5.2 over the top of 1.4, which is what I originally did, but this leaves you with 2 entries in Add or Remove Programs, 1 for just Spybot (new version) and 1 for v1.4. If this won't bother you, just go ahead and install 1.5.2 without uninstalling 1.4 first. Otherwise, make a note of your Settings in 1.4 in case you changed any, uninstall it and then install 1.5.2 and change Settings to what you want if necessary.
I ended up uninstalling everything and reinstalling 1.5.2 because I might be a bit weird and it just looked tidier in Add or Remove Programs! :)
