Candy

I do not believe that you are giving the full name.

For instance in my startup programs there are 2 that are in:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\ccApp.exe
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\UsrPmpt.exe

Before you disable your program you should make certain what it is as it may be appropriate for it to be starting.

If you can post the full file name, I am sure someone here can advise you.

You can, if necessary, disable this through Spybot-but I would not even go into that until you know what it is.

 I'm not quite sure, when i start my pc ( we have the newest dell version, windows XP and all) that common file folder pops ups, and the kodak easy share program starts running. they just started doing that. i did a search on my pc for that folder and it brought up 59 common file folders!! but none of them were the one that pops up when i start my pc

I found u guys by doing a search on Google about a "Myway search assistant' that i found in my add remove programs. i was in there removeing my yahoo instant messenger (because it wasn't working right either!) when i came upon that search assistant thingy. then i found some other things in my add remove programs list ...can you help me decided weither or not to delete them.

Hi candy, not without seeing a log. :)

Open SpyBot, check for and get any updates available.
Close all browsers, check for problems and fix everything found in red
Then on the toolbar menu select mode and switch to advanced mode, on the left lower down select tools, and view report, ensure all the options are selected near the bottom except

Uncheck[ ] do not report disabled or known legitimate Items.
uncheck[ ] Include a list of services in report.
Uncheck[ ] Include uninstall list in report.

Now select (near the top) view report.
Press export in the save in box choose a place such as your my documents folder, then in your next post near the bottom select the "browse" button; navigate to and attach or post that report please.
