View Full Version : Help me remove Smitfraud C.MSVPS please..
i have recenty been infected by many viruses without knowing why and how..i have fought against smitfraud c and won the battle and many other viruses but my Spybot still finds Smitfraud C.Msvps and zlob.downloader.se..i could really need your help.thank you in advance, john

Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Are both AVG and Norton up-to-date?
no actually norton antivirus has expired..
but avg is and i've scanned my pc many times running full scans with no results after the first time i tested it when avg found about 65 infrction which were all healed

actually i am not sure if i know how to get a spybot report from a scan..but i will send the hijackthis report and try to find out how to get one from spybot too

Let's then re-scan:
* Open SpyBot.
* Check for problems.
* When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
* Paste (Ctrl+V) those results into a new post.

i dont remember doing something to get rid of that spyware except for scaning with spybot wich could not remove it and a avg scan that did not find any threats..
i really dont understand..

there is something else:
1)i cannot change some settings in Internet Explorer because of : "some settings are managed by the administrator"
2) i had a problem with turning on the option in Folder Options to show hidden files..i turned it on by modifying the registry but i dont know if i can turn it off safely without worrying of this being automatically turned off again

They are no threats.
As for 1), fix this with HijackThis, reboot and tell if it helped:

2) So are hidden files now visible?
yes they do but i am not sure what may have caused this malfunction and i am not sure if i can turn off showing hidden files without worrying whether i will hav to modify the windows registry again..
and yes what you told me to do about the internet explorer problem worked without a reboot..ty:)by the way i forgot to tell you that i had tried to remove smitfraud c.msvps with smitfraud fix and some other applications like rogueremover but after cleaning it was still there..i don't know how did it suddenly disappear..
