I updated two desk machines from SpybotSD 1.4 to 1.5.2 in fine style, but when trying to update a portable machine with ZoneAlarm installed, there was trouble. I could download the file SpybotSD152.exe and run it, but when it then tried to download spybotsd_includes.exe, something (apparently ZoneAlarm) blocked the download in a confusing way. I downloaded that file manually and restarted the installation, but the installer would not use the local copy that I had put in the same directory. I finally stopped ZoneAlarm (safe enough since I was behind another firewall at the moment) and now could install as you intended.

Clearly I have some issues to pursue with ZoneAlarm, and they are not your problem. However the sequence leads me to make the following.......

Suggestion: That the install process not involve an additional download not under the user's control, or that there be alternatives to the way it is presently done in case of trouble. For instance, one might have the installer check the directory where it is located to see if the needed file is already there.

The additional download is actually under the user's control although it may not be apparent. Please read Post #5 (http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=166620&postcount=5) in the following thread:
