edit- btw, I'm trying to start up a work link on the Einstein@home message boards. Thanks to prab~ from whom I plagarized most of the first post (I did give credit though). Also, anyone interested in using their computer's unused cycles for distributed computing please check out Einstein@home and Boinc. There are many projects that could use help - protein structure, disease research, trying to find gravity waves, exterrestrial intelligence, climate prediction, etc. More info can be found on the Wikipedia (Boinc).

conference = boondoggle (an unnecessary or wasteful project or activity) = Scoubidou?
Hey, it's your game, not mine. If you don't understand a word, try a dictionary.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boondoggle
Boondoggle has also come to refer in the USA for the plaiting craft known elsewhere as Scoubidou, since many such objects are made by this craft.
