Jello powder...
I read the horses were covered in jello powder because it had to be a substance the aspca approved of. I was delighted to read that, I didn't even know there was someone watching out for animals back then. :)
Too bad there wasn't an equal advocate for Judy Garland, as I see she wasn't treated very well. :sad:
I think we would be very surprised to learn of things that happened way back then.

Can you imagine going through life again but now as a child or younger adult ?
That would be freaky. Can you imagine if somebody woke up one day and they were a young adult? None of their friends and family would believe them, they'd think they were an imposter, unless they were able to do a comparison dna test from before and after.
I used to say I wanted to remain Twenty-seven, it's a good age, not too young, not too old, no pimples or awkward growing phases, and no wrinkles or grey hair yet, lol!

Me, too. Except I've never been real sciencey. But I did read up on a few things about it here and there.

I think I read in a magazine or online a few years back that some doctors and/or scientists were talking about treating aging as something to be treated rather than looking on it as inevitable.
They've worked wonders in how to make us look younger, face lifts and other physical alterations but

Me, too. Though I used to be a heavy smoker at the age of twenty, so my heart and circulatory system hopefully might be better now than it was then. That's a thought that makes me happy. :)

Sprightly makes me think of one of my husband's Grandmothers....an older lady with a twinkle in her eye. She was a nice woman. :)

Jump-rope was fun, but unfortunately I could never get the hang of the hula hoop. :)
I did OK with jump rope and all I learned with a hula hoop was frustration

I don't get too many headaches, but I had one about a week ago that was a doozy. It seemed to just be on one side of my head. Cleared up after awhile, but it was one of those ones where you're like "Is this just a bad headache, or is something wrong?"

You know what, you're probably right. I don't think I've ever had one before so didn't know what was going on. And frankly, I hope I never have one again, it was awful.

They put my Mom on morphine when she had to go to outpatients years ago, since she was in a lot of pain. Believe it or not, it turned out to be Gerd. At any rate, I'd guess she felt much better since she looked at me and VERY LOUDLY said a curse word I definitely cannot say on here, that I swear was loud enough to be heard three nurses stations over, then said oops and giggled uncontrollably. I remind her of it every so often, lol. :laugh::laugh::laugh:

I can't do Opioids, at least not in pill form because they cause nausea for me, I mean badly.
Last year I had a shoulder surgery, oh boy!..not for the weak
In recovery found out quick I can't take that stuff so small amounts of morphine helped but not a cure.

Oof, nobody wants to have shoulder surgery then have nausea on top of recovery. :sad:

I've never had a bee sting, but I did get stung by a hornet a couple summers ago. It flew across my driveway, and stung me on the lip. I'm not sure what all the kerfluffle was, I don't think I was close to a nest or anything. I looked like I'd paid for lip filler or something, but boy did it hurt! :laugh:

We had a hornet's nest in our barbeque a couple years back, that was an unpleasant surprise. :eek:
We saw a hornet's nest on a tree trunk that was bigger then the trunk itself. Wrapped totally around. they set it on fire
That was probably the hornet equivalent to a city.
As I recall, we just slammed the barbecue lid down and ran. :eek::laugh:

The minute I saw direction I automatically thought of Never Eat Sour Watermelon, something a very nice girl I used to know in elementary school years ago used to say to remember the compass directions. :)

We're having a snow storm tomorrow and I've heard through the grapevine that the grocery stores have been a bit packed. (I'm not sure why, it doesn't sound like much of a storm.)
It sounds busy enough that I'm kind of considering just eating Rice Krispies tomorrow for the day, lol!

We got snow, and also still have a snowfall warning for tonight, so I guess we'll be getting more. I actually went to the grocery store last night. Not sure why, since I've only eaten toast so far, lol. :laugh:

When my Mom had her cat (passed away in 2021) all the cat would eat is pate wet cat food, and it was hard to find sometimes because all the wet cat food contained gravy. When my Mom adopted her new cat I made the mistake of buying wet cat food with gravy when I went to visit, thinking it would be easier to get her. Except now it's hard to find wet cat food with gravy, because they are all pate. Annnnd the new cat promptly decided gravy was delicious and all cat food had to have it. :rolleyes: :laugh:

I was startled when a deer came out when I was walking one time. For a couple seconds he looked almost like he might charge towards us and at the last second he ran into the woods. I know deer aren't exactly terrifying, but I had a couple of seconds of an uh-oh! feeling.
Truth be known, a deer can attack you. It can raise upon it's hind legs and use the front legs pounding you in the head, I've seen it.
I don't want to mess with a skunk either.
