• Welcome Guest, to the Spybot Forums! It's 2025, and we just upgraded our forum software.

Today is Safer Internet Day, and with our new forum, you can finally use passkeys to login. That was about time!

Of course, you could ask if a forum is still useful, with so many social media networks out there where you might already have an account, and met a lot of users. You can now use your login from some of those networks to log in here. And by posting here, your question and data is stored on our servers and not automatically shared with a whole social media network.

We'll also start using the forum for small bits of information, announcements and more again.

RE: language added to list of languages

I noticed that another language has been included in my settings folder that I did not set there.
It's for Esperanto - and might have been directing me to a false site for updates to spybot.

Can I delete this other language? and how do I do it?

I have been having problems where registry changes are occurring and when I am in Internet explorer I might be getting re-directed ( it was something like fwlnk.microsoft.com)

Does anyone know if this is a problem and if so how can i fix it?
thanks

Hello,

You can delete it by going into your Spybot folder:
C:\Programms\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Languages
There you can delete the languages that you do not need anymore.

Probably you have marked downloading other languages in the update.

Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy and switch to the Advanced mode via the menu item Mode.
Now select 'Settings' - 'Settings' from the navigation bar on the left.
Scroll down to the item 'Web Update' and untick the box in front of 'Display update for other languages'.

Best regards
