Not much information about this program, can you assure me it is safe?

1) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall MyWebSearch and anything else you know does not belong there.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) Right click Start > Explore and navigate to these files/folders and delete them if there.

C:\PROGRAM FILES~1\MYWEBSEARCH~1\ <<< delete that folder if there

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log and the Kaspersky Online Scan you are holding. Tell me how the computer runs now.

the following programme you asked about
C:\Program Files\Olivetti\ANY_WAY\olMntrService.exe relates to my printer (olivetti -anyway) -not sure what olMntrservice means though ?!?! so unless the olmservice is a rogue file its probably safe.

-- don't know how vital it is but the link on your post for atf cleaner didnt work so i googled it and used the 1st one i found.

-unable to find mywebsearch in program files -(i ran a search and it came back with this message
"c:\programfiles~1refers to a location thats unavaiable.it could be on a hard drive on this computer,or on a network.check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted,or that you are connected to the internet( i was) or your network and try agian.If it still cannot be located,the information might have been moved to a different location."

- like it is mentioned in the post that should be read before asking for help my kaspersky log wont fit on one post its too big.let me know how best to post it and i will????

- For the record my comp is still running slower -the spywear reinstalls itself even after deletion and apparently disables the microsoft secuirty centre according to spybot.My search engine was changed to ask buti have somehow managed to change it back to google.

I have no idea what that is you posted, surely looks like no Kaspersky Online Scan results I have seen. Please follow these directions:
Once you post the correct information I will edit that post from the topic.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:

* This will program will start and scan your system.

a) as you can see ,your right i can compress files, i was just being very very stoopid!

the orginal log i gave you in 3 parts which i have included aswell (titled kasp)was an extended version of the scan because tashi who originally replied to an earlier thread i posted requested i ran the extended version.This is possibly why you didnt recognise the layout???

Thanks PS-K for your help so far and the info,i'm just running some tests to see how the comps running now,(also being mothers day over here got some other appointments to keep:) cant believe it was that simple in the end just to delete one file!.
I do seem to have some issues still like Norton isnt working properly, and according to spybot the microsoft security suit is still being disabled(could this be Norton doing this?!?!?)
i'm going to reinstall but it wont uninstall at the moment but will speak to their helpdesk about that and see what happens.
I do have some othe rquestions regarding the whole spyware issue and which options best for ma comp. i'll get back to you in a couple of days and let you know the progress ,don't close this thread yet!! i'll be in touch;)

Malware can surely mess up antivirus programs (though I have seen nothing in the cleanup that should have done this) that is one of the first things hackers try to do, corrupt your virus protection. It is always possible the program itself has gotten corrupted files and it may need to be uninstall and reinstalled. I would let your technical support folds advise you concerning this.

As for Spybot S&D, I run the program and know a lot about it, but the Spybot experts reside here:

Understand, if you do something like turn off the Windows Firewall so you can run a better third party firewall, Spybot will flag that move. This does not mean it is a wrong move, Spybot is just providing you with information it thinks you need.

Anyway regarding my pc...It seems to be working better cheers though every so often my pc still goes mad with activity and slows right down for no apparent reason? maybe i'm just a perfectionist?!?!if you say its clear that good enough for me.I finally got Norton uninstalled /reinstalled and both that and spybot are saying alls clear!

Hey Mark, thanks for the feedback. When was the last time you opened the computer cabinet and blew the dust out of the fans, etc.? I don't like the sound of what you say is happening, it sounds like possible hardware failure. If you have not cleaned inside, or have not in a long while, pick up a can of clean air (office supply store) open the cabinet and blow out the dust. Be careful what you touch, only takes a bit of static electricity to ruin the motherboard.
