Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
You are infected, I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
I see this: http://www.castlecops.com/o21list-51.html and I can not tell if the infection is still there and you also have a Vundo infection:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware_Quake
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vundo_trojan
If you wish to clean this, do not expect fast or easy. I need to check for the Smitfraud infection first.
http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< download Smitfraudfix from here and follow ONLY these directions.
Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/processutil/processutil.htm
Post only the C:\rapport.txt
Thanks
oki doki I'll make sure I don't do that thank you for your help :bigthumb:

Thanks for returning your information, please follow these directions next.
Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log.
Thanks
Hi! Thanks for your swift reply :red:
Ok before I give you the reports while I was running the Smitfraudfix programme half way through just before the 'clean registery' to be exact the disk cleap up programme popped up I canceled this as I thought it was one of the schedule tasks - was I right to do that?
I didn't get asked about the: 'The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.' but that could've been because I was not at the PC whilst it was doing it.
I also did the Optional option :D:
Here they are:

The HJT report was done after rebooting into normal windows:
and for some reason when I clicked on HiJack This a mirsoft error report popped up asking me to send an error report on an application called 'Run a DLL as an app' and HJT took really long to get up and in the end it seemed that it wouldn't load up. Hence I rebooted the PC (manually) :devil: and then ran the scan in safe mode - nothing seemed to wokr in normal not that I tried :p

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback, not to worry, if the wininet.dll is infected, Smitfraudfix replaced it if it is available on the hard drive. We will run a tool to clean again also. That portion of the fix was supposed to be run in safe mode:
Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
I need to see the HJT in normal mode please. You have a Vundo infection, the computer is not going to run right until it is removed.
Thanks
ok I'll try again thank you
P.S. All Zelda gams are legendery!!! :laugh:

Thanks for returning your HJT log, let's start with these from the Kaspersky scan:
C:\Documents and Settings\Adnan\Local Settings\Temp\7zS3.tmp\vnchooks.dll ------> RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC-based.c skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Adnan\Local Settings\Temp\7zS5.tmp\vnchooks.dll ------> RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC-based.c skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Adnan\Local Settings\Temp\7zS6.tmp\vnchooks.dll ------> RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC-based.c skipped
C:\Documents and Settings\Adnan\Local Settings\Temp\7zS7.tmp\vnchooks.dll ------> RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC-based.c skipped
It may be Kaspersky is falsely identifying these as malware. Use one or more of these free scans to scan those files to find out:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/
http://www.kaspersky.com/scanforvirus
http://www.virustotal.com/
Let me know the results.
Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.
http://vundofix.atribune.org/ <<< tutorial
"Download VundoFix" to your Desktop
http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
When VundoFix opens, click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will attempt run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click
the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot. Vundofix.txt will be on the C:\
Post the Vundofix.txt and a new HJT log
and the information from the file scans.
Thanks
for the files you've asked me to scan they all said this:
Scanned file: vnchooks.dll - Infected
vnchooks.dll - infected by not-a-virus:RemoteAdmin.Win32.WinVNC-based.c
but that was only for Kaspersky but I thik I know what VNC is, my friend uses it to take control over oyu PC's sometimes when we need his help :red:
Here they are:

Site has been down for several hours...
Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. I thought those VNC files were valid, Kaspersky always flags them as it often flags tools we use as "riskware". We still have work to do:
See this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=282
http://www.nutnworks.com/SafeHex/file_sharing.htm
File sharing programs are dangerous enough as is, when they are running all of the time on the computer, that makes them much more dangers. If you must use them, start them when needed and stop them when done.
See this: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
I believe you need one update for your Java program, but it looks like you may have old versions which may be why your are infected:
Old versions of java are exploitable and should be removed.
Java version is 1.5.0.6
Java version is 1.5.0.9
Java version is 1.5.0.10
Java version is 1.5.0.11
Update to the newest version and then uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.
1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.
2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
3) Open Vundofix by Doubleclicking on it, then point your mouse to the white box above the buttons and right click, then click on Add More Files. When the next window opens,

Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Restart and post the Vundofix report, a new HJT log and some feedback.
Thanks...Phil
I know really it was really distressing :laugh: for me
anyway I did have some problems:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebxxwt.dll <------ Vundofix could not remove this file eventhough I rebooted and loaded Vundofix several times. When you asked me to make sure both of those files were deleted, I went to the addresses and only the other one was gone :angel: but!! C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebxxwt.dll was still there and I was still unable to remove it message came up saying:
Cannot Delete: Access Denied, Make sure the dick is not full or write-protected and that the file is currently not in use.
Eventhough I couldn't delete that particular file I continued with the rest of the steps and here are the report you've asked for:

I understand your frustrations, removing this infection is never a walk in the park. I have probably assisted on several thousand removals and most have been tough. Having said that, let me say I see no evidence of that file in this HJT log.
You have a Java program that looks to need an update, besides that the log is clean.
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
Here is some information about this junk and the hackers who need to be behind bars. I personally look at this like if they pushed their way into your home.
Since there is a class action involving this one, you may want to view this information:

Run a Kaspersky Online Scan using these setting, before you scan remove Vundofix and the C:\Vundofix Backups\ folder from your computer.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here. <<< no need to post a clean scan, but I do think we have a few infected System Restores files to clean yet.
Thanks...Phil
