When I attempt to go online, I get the dreaded blue screen with the Physical Memory Dump message causing a reboot. I have installed Spybot to scan for errors in case something maliscious is taking control of my machine.

The problem I face is that Spybot wants to search for updates on first start up but since I can't get online it is unable to perform the search. When I attempt to use the Search and Destroy button I get the message that I can't use this button until I run the integrated or manual update function.

Everyone says Spybot is the business and I really want to use it so can anyone tell me a way to get the application to search and destroy and go for the updates after the cleanup operation is successful and I can get online again? Hope this makes sense to someone who can help.

If you have a way to transfer a file to the system that you can not get connected to the internet, download spybotsd_includes.exe (http://www.spybotupdates.com/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe) (see Note #1), transfer it to the afflicted system and execute it to update Spybot.

Note #1: The spybotsd_includes.exe file is normally available on the following Web page:
Downloads - The home of Spybot-S&D!
http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html
The current download item is:
Detection updates 2008-02-27 - product description
md5: CBE60E3B774835538DBB981AE467E671
This updates the detection rules. Only needed if you do not want to use the update function integrated into Spybot-S&D.
Although the file changes weekly, the direct download is always:
spybotsd_includes.exe (http://www.spybotupdates.com/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe)

Weel, what you sggested worked for Spybot but having checked and cleared my machine of viruses and malware,
I still get the dreaded blue screen with the Physical Memory Dump message. My machine is dead slow now and I'm not sure what else to try. Anyway, it's no fault of Spybot or this forum for sure.
Thanks Again
