Hi,

Spybot will not scan at the time I scheduled it for. With each passing day, it just says it will scan the next day, yet it never scans. It's like it procrastinates or something o_0'

My OS is Windows XP Pro x64 Edition, and I am running the latest spybot. It worked for a little bit, but all of a sudden it stopped working like it should.

Hello,

Do you have admin rights?
Did you enter a password?
When you get this error message:
“0x80070005: Access is denied" error message when you create a scheduled task in Windows XP Service Pack 2:
Brightsparks (http://www.2brightsparks.com/help/index.php?action=kb&article=59)
Microsoft Support (http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3Ben-us%3B883605&x=10&y=12)

Also see:
Scheduled Tasks cannot run with a blank password
Scheduler Problems (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;310715)

There is workaround for the password requirement in Windows XP.
See the following thread:
Scheduling a Spybot scan under Windows XP

Yes, I DO have admin rights. I think I found the problem though. For some reason the scheduleder is stuck on the user Administrator. My account name WAS Administrator, then I changed the name. I can't change the account under the scheduled task at all. I guess I will have to either live with the name being that, or just run manual scans myself

Try to add the scheduled task again with the new username.

Try to add the scheduled task again with the new username.

Tried that.... it just adds this for the user in task, even with the new name:

FLAGSHIP\Administrator

You have to add the command:
"C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\SDUpdate.exe" /xxxxxxxx /xxxxxxxx /xxxxxxxx (with whatever parameters you what)
If you are doing it through Spybot rather than the through Scheduled Tasks, after you add it click on the Edit button and put in whatever parameters you what.

Adding the task manually through task scheduler fixed the issue. Thanks.
