Error On Installation

Can you help me. I had Spybot 1.4 on my computer. I had problems when it tried to update to version 1.52. So I removed it and downloaded the version from this site.
It will not install. I get an error message:

Error creating registry Key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\disabled

RegCreateKeyEx Failed;code5

Any ideas what I can do ?

Are you installing from an account with Administrator permissions, what is the operating system?

Tashi - thanks for the response. I am using an administrator account and I use the windows xp operating system.

I think the problem may be that my computer was infected a while ago, I cleaned it up but I had to set up a new admin account. Spybot was installed on the old account (this may make no sense). This may be why I have the problem

Why did you have to setup a new Admin account?

It could be that the old account still has an infection, do you remember the name of the malware?
