I can not see this without the HJT log, but with the infection, it is likely it is out of date.

Download Trend Micro Hijack This™
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/hijackthis/HJTInstall.exe
Doubleclick the HJTInstall.exe to start it.
By default it will install HijackThis in the Program Files\Trendmicro folder and create a desktop shortcut.
HijackThis will open after install. Press the Scan button below.
This will start the scan and open a log.
Copy and paste the contents of the log in your next reply.

I emptied the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy\Recovery\ folder and cleaned the C:\Documents and Settings\Julie\Application Data\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\ cache. I deleted the old Java and installed the new Java. When I restarted the computer in safe mode and ran Spybot it would say it removed the files, but when I ran it again, the files same 25 problems were found again...I did this three times.

1) Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally post the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

(wait until you are done to post logs and reports)

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Windows Defender: Click on "Tools"
Click on "General Settings"
Scroll down to "Real-time protection options"
Uncheck "Turn on Real-time protection (recommended)"
Click "Save"
Make sure to turn your protection back on when you finish.

5) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall ZoneAlarmSB, RXToolBar and MYWEBSEARCH if they are there.

(some items may be gone, removed by SDFix, don't be concerned)

6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

7) Right click Start > Explore and navigate to these files/folders and delete them if there.

C:\Program Files\ZoneAlarmSB\ <<< delete the folder

8) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post the log from SDFix, a new HJT log and some feedback from you.

My desktop no longer appears to be hijacked and I'm not getting the "spyware warning" pop ups. Spybot and the Spybot team are amazing! One thing that I found interesting is that I use komando.com as a trusted source for information, but she contradicted a couple of things that Spybot said: 1) She recommended turning off "System restore" and running Spybot and/or other similar programs...you said not to turn off System restore. 2) She recommended Zone Alarm where you say not to use it. I mention these things because Spybot is a "go to" recommendation for her.

1) I post suggestions from experts in malware removal/security before we finish and prefer to wait until then to see if they answer all of your questions. We believe a bad System Restore point is better than no System Restore point in an emergency. As a results, we wait until the computer is clean and then purge all restore points and set a new onw, see this information:

She recommended Zone Alarm where you say not to use it2) I use ZA free personally and have for many years, could you show me where I said that? Recently ZA has been adding junk along with the download and I do feel the user should be better made aware of this:

Remove SDFix from your computer and scan with KOS using these settings for a final check:
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here. <<< please DO NOT post a clean scan.
