First off, I want to thank everyone here for doing such an amazing job. You are very appreciated.
I have a malware problem. Also, I am getting an error when spybot is ran that says C:\ is corrupt...only Spybot says that, nothing else. Is this part of Zango?

Post error messages word for word, no way to research them otherwise.

2) You are running two antivirus programs at the same time and this is not a good thing. They conflict with each other and you will be less safe than if you ran one good program and maintained it properly.

Restart, post the uninstall list, a new HJT log and some feedback about performance.

Problems were encountered when I attempted to locate and uninstall Weatherbug. It was not listed to be uninstalled, so I am concerned that it is part of another program. This is a friends laptop I am working on so I am unsure of what it might under. AOL (ack) and a program called REGCURE are here. Could they be harboring the weatherbug?

I'm not sure where to find the uninstall list you requested.
As far as performance, there was not any noticeable improvement. I am not doing anything else until this problem is solved except for what you instruct...I don't want to cause more problems and waste time for you on your end. So performance may be better and I just don't see it yet.

1) How to post the uninstall list:

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

2) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall ShoppingReport

3) Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.

Follow these instructions to clean the infected System Restore files.

Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Now run a new KOS using these settings:
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here. Also let me know you were able to complete the instructions I posted above.

Media player successfully uninstalled. I did not proceed with steps provided because of the error. And I may have missed the keys from HJT to remove them...I won't miss them next time.

I wanted to thank you for all of your time and effort. This wasn't as easy as you first thought, eh?
Here is where it stands...neither of those sites were any assistance as that directory does not exist in Program Files. I couldn't find it anywhere in the machine. It either doesn't exist or it is another name...somehow.
I can't explain HJT not fixing those entries. Do you think the issue will reoccur, or has the problem been cleaned up enough to not worry about?

I really don't know, one thing that makes it hard is the hackers have no rules to follow, they can put the junk anywhere they wish. Use Search Companion to locate the junk and delete it, or at least to satisfy yourself it is not there. The adware is tough, Kaspersky does not see it because it is almost always downloaded on purpose, bundled with other junk because the EULA is not read.
