inHeaven:

By default:
Spybot is installed in the following directory and folders within that directory:
C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
Other files Spybot related files are stored in one of the following directories and folders within that directory:
Windows 95 or 98:
C:\Windows\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy
Windows ME:
C:\Windows\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy
Windows NT, 2000 or XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Spybot - Search & Destroy
Windows Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Spybot - Search & Destroy
I don't understand why:
The installation folder is being changed to, unless you are altering the default during installation. :
C:\Program Files\Spybot52

Although you indicated:

… it created the spybot52 folder but now i cant delete that too ?
It seems improbable that Spybot would create a spybot52 folder without intervention, particularly since the latest version of Spybot is Spybot 1.5.2 (not Spybot 5.2).

The creation of any folder would be blocked unless you are: Not installing from a user account with "Computer administrator" authority.
--- or ---
Using software that either: Prevents the creation of new folders.
--- or ---
Locks existing folders.
Suggestion:
Attempt the installation from a "Computer administrator" user account and do not alter the default location for the installation.

no it was my typo(it should be spybot152)
mainly because ther r several directory's with spybot in the name
like the default one or just spybot or spybot151from a previous install which i cannot delete too

The creation of any folder would be blocked unless you are:
Not installing from a user account with "Computer administrator" authority.
--- or ---
Using software that either:
1. Prevents the creation of new folders.
--- or ---
2. Locks existing folders.
i use a admin account and dont run software that prevents me from deleting manually an directory
i tried the install again and didnt alter the install dir
this was the msg i got after it downloaded the upgrades

it doesnt react on retry but on ignore it doesnt create any file so i pressed abort and the installation cancels.weird!

Actually I had a typo in my response. I left out the word not. The following was incorrect:

2. The creation of any folder would be blocked unless you are: Not installing from a user account with "Computer administrator" authority.
--- or ---
Using software that either: Prevents the creation of new folders.
--- or ---
Locks existing folders.
It should have read:

2. The creation of any folder would not be blocked unless you are: Not installing from a user account with "Computer administrator" authority.
--- or ---
Using software that either: Prevents the creation of new folders.
--- or ---
Locks existing folders.
__________

Let's go back to ground zero.

Firstly, What Windows OS software are you running?

You indicated:

… then i discovered i am not able to uninstall it manually or delete the folders where it was installed! ..What messages are you getting when you attempt " … to uninstall it manually or delete the folders where it was installed! …"?

vista 32 and this is the error msg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn56/sunmoonvenus/forums/spybot3.jpg
i tried to set all permissions for the folder but no luck even unlocker couldnt do it.
when i alter the install dir to eg spybotxxx then the dir is created but the install would not continue due to the error "access denied"
and after i canceled the installation i am not able to delete the created (and empty) dir spybotxxx

Make sure the folders are completely empty before attempting to delete them.

Some of Spybot's executables are hidden as protected operating system files. To view hidden files and folders, follow these steps:
Click Start, and then click My Computer.
On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
Check "Show hidden files and folders".
Then uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" check box.
Note: If you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system file" option to view Spybot's executables, I suggest that you return the option to its original setting when you are done.

Install in the default folder not spybot52, spybot152, etc.

If it is, you are the only one to ever encounter and report it.
