hi nagan,

sorry for delay, no shortage of posters.

file keeps appearing after deletion
whats giving you that message and deleting it, your antivirus?

looks like you have two antivirus:

CA Internet Security Suite
ESET NOD32 Antivirus

only need one resident AV on a computer.

also see several other anti this or that software installed

software suites often contain multiple components like antivirus, antispyware, firewall etc. they can overlap in what they do, hog system resources and do not increase your security.
what component do you have installed from:Online Armor?
maybe we can trim some of this down.

RamBooster 2.0;
windows can manage memory just fine by itself. I would uninstall RamBooster from the add/remove programs panel.

NetLimiter.exe
what are you trying to accomplish with this? maybe i can offer a alternative.
I think it also has a "built in firewall" and you also have Zone alarm.

I ran the a squared scan and it dished out this memman.vxd in sys32 folder,deleted it thru the software itself.After rebooting it was cozily lying there.I sample mailed both ESET and CA and both declared it as harmless,though CA puts it in the spyware category.Googling also brought out the same.

you could also upload it here for even more confusion;

Well thanks for the info.Uploaded at jotti and was given a "CLEAN" by all including Asquared!!

You can treat this as closed.But a few queries....

1.Why does it keep reappearing even after deletion?
2.Why does Google and CA give a false account on that?
3.Even I have been directed to post here from SPYBOT itself!!

hi nagan,

to answer your questions:

its not possible to delete core files, maybe its part of the OS or a piece of hardware?actually i thought .vxd extensions went out with windows ME

its possible for any Antivirus/antispyware app to have false positives
'googling" for a file can also return lots of different results, if its bona fide malware you will get lots of hits saying so.

posts in other forums about questionable files etc usually get redirected to this forum.
hope that answers the questions.
