I keep getting Include error - trojan thing. I download whatever it's name is as per instructions. It's showing on screen a Spybotsd_t..... I ran the program, I think - shows Complete. Went to Spybot and download updates. None available.

Okay, I still get the same msg. Include errors, trojan whatever.

How do I correct or get this to go away?

In case I get lost trying to get back here - roset@sybertech.net

Is this the error you are getting?
There were problems in the include file C:/program files/spybot.search_destroy/includes/trojansC.sbi" See "includes errors.log" for details.

Which version of Spybot are you using? If you are unsure, please open Spybot, then click Help, then About.

It`s not a good idea to post your email address in a public forum, because you have to watch out for spambots.

I believe the solution to the error message you are getting is usually to upgrade to Spybot 1.5.2.

What weird things were happening when you had Spybot 1.5?

Happening was getting server so to go on line (connect) and then puter didn't want to shut down - Okay, everything closed out and msg would display: Probram running, do you want to end? "End now" wouldn't get the job done without a few tries or using some other "shut down." Wife would get so mad she'd unplug the puter and crt.

Did this happen when installing Spybot,or when running the program?

Did this happen when installing Spybot,or when running the program?

From the start: I downloaded the SpyBot ts program. Installed, said complete, but nothing taking place. I called for any updates thru SpyBot and got msg of being up to date. Ran SpyBot and got same Include errors /trojan msg. I did this several times without getting results. I then downloaded SpyBot 1.5. I ran SpyBot 1.5 and check went through, Congratulations, no errors found. I then tried to shut down puter for the night. I didn't think to look if it did as I had already shut off the monitor/crt. Next day, there is was, puter still up and msg, program running, do you want to end? Well, I cleared that and tried to go on line and couldn't. I tried several times before I got to server to connect. Upon shutting down that evening I saw puter didn't shut down and there was that stupid msg, program running, do you want to end? This went on for a few days and then I deleted SpyBot 1.5 and everything was okay...except for running SpyBot 1.4 and getting that Include errors/trojan thing. And here we are......

Downloading Spybotsd_tcpip(which is what I assume you were being asked to download) will not likely fix this problem. Please see md usa spybot fan's explanation here:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=26818&highlight=rootkit

The errors you are getting are caused by new detection rules that are incompatible with Spybot 1.4. These new detection rules use the new Anti-Rootkit plugins #1, #2 and #3 that only have been offered as updates to Spybot 1.5.2. If you upgrade to Spybot 1.5.2 you will not only eliminate the error messages but in also will be performing rootkit searches while doing a Spybot "Check for problems".

I'm not sure what may be causing the shutdown problems with 1.5.2 on your computer. But,as for right now, with Spybot 1.4 you are stuck with those include file errors(There were problems in the include file C:/program files/spybot.search_destroy/includes/trojansC.sbi"),as far as I know.

Did you shutdown Spybot 1.5.2 before shutting down your computer for the night?
Did you get any error messages when you couldn't connect?

As far as I know Spybot 1.5 wasn't running, as least I didn't call for it to run. I deleted Spybot 1.5 and puter shut down as normal. I haven't tried it since. Like you said, guess I'm stuck with the error.

Well, I tried SpyBot 1.5 again with all updates and really got weird things happening. I could shut down my puter, but when I turned it on I got the puters SpyBot page showing all the items in it. Tried deleleting SB 1.5 (Recyle Bin) and that didn't fix it. Deleting totally didn't help. I ended up doing a Systems Restore to get back to normal mode of things.

Do you mean Spybot was open, and there was a list of items to be fixed, after you turned on your computer?

No. My main screen came up and immediately after the puter program page of SpyBot came up. And the check files it does was showing - Just like you open your documents or pictures and all the files or pictures are there.

Okay, my puter should never have left the main screen without me clicking on something and there was the SpyBot as above. Weird.

Is SpyBot 1.4 still available? I notice that I haven't had any updates of late.
I thought maybe I could install another 1.4 and if it didn't get the Include errors thing I could uninstall this one and go with the newly downloaded 1.4.

Hello,

We have added some new detection routines for our new version 1.5.2.
The old versions can't handle with this new routines yet.
So please upgrade to the Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2.
This should fix it.
Here is the download link (http://www.spybotupdates.com/files/spybotsd152.exe).
Please do not forget to update afterwards.

Best regards

That's what I downloaded, 1.5.2, (twice) and all it's updates. I loaded 1.5.2 into a separate file so not lose the 1.4 version.

If you renamed the Spybot folder in order to be able to keep Spybot 1.4 or similar, then that may be what you were seeing on startup.Sometimes,if you rename the Spybot - Search & Destroy folder to something else, the Spybot programs file folder opens on startup. For a reference, see here:

http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=14811 Read this throughout. Now, if I uninstall 1.4 and I load 1.5.2 and 1.5.2does the same unwanted stuff, how do I get 1.4 back?

If it was the Spybot programs file folder opening on startup, then I suggest that you uninstall and start over, including using "this very small fix.".How to uninstall instructions are here:
http://www.spybot.info/en/howto/uninstall.html

Spybot-S&D will uninstall from the Windows Add/Remove Software control panel without problems.

If you want to completely get rid of Spybot-S&D and the Add/Remove does not help, you can delete the installation folder (usually C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy\), then download this very small fix (http://www.safer-networking.org/files/remove-spybotsd-settings.reg) and execute it (important! - this will remove all remains from the registry).

If you just want to upgrade to a newer version, please follow the same instructions like above and then install the new version.

After following these instructions please restart your system so that the changes can take place.

Here is the page to download Spybot 1.5.2:
http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html

There's a tutorial,if you'd like to have a look:
http://www.spybot.info/en/tutorial/index.html
When installing Spybot 1.5.2,I suggest unchecking 'Download updates immediately' when you get to the 'Select Components' screen. There have been some connection problems with that in the past.
After the installation completes go into Spybot -> Update to download the updates.

Now, if I uninstall 1.4 and I load 1.5.2 and 1.5.2does the same unwanted stuff, how do I get 1.4 back?
The old Spybot 1.4 version is available from oldversion.com:
http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=spybot
You should use the newer Spybot 1.5.2 version, though,if at all possible, since Spybot 1.4 had a few bugs.

Well, I uninstalled 1.4 and installed 1.5.2 and "this very small fix" . The SpyBot page display didn't come up - so good there. BUT, when I shut down my puter is has message block come up - Program running thing and I ain't running nothing. And it takes 3 and sometimes more (same Prog running msg) tries to get the puter to shut down. At least with 1.4 all I had to do was push the button to fire up and push the same button to shut and walk away.

Does that happen every time you shut down? And the program running message, does it say it is Spybot running?

No. Here was my last shut down: On site, quit site, deleted Internet Explorer, clicked crt screens on bottom task bar to get disconnect block, disconnected from Server, shut off puter. And then the Msg block comes up.

So,it only happens sometimes when you shut down, not always?
And can you give me the exact message you are getting in the message box?Take a pen and paper and write it down,if that will help. :)

Also, could you please let me see your startup log?Open Spybot, click mode,Advanced Mode, say yes to the prompt, then click Tools, then click System Startup, click Export...,then click Save in the box that pops up.

Next, over to the left, click View Report, then over to the right select View previous report, then scroll through and find SpybotSD.System startup report, click it and select Open.In that window where the report will appear, please rightclick, then select Select All,then rightclick once again select Copy, then paste it here.

Once done, you can put Spybot back into normal mode by clicking Mode up top, then selecting Default Mode.

Msg was just running program if I ended now I would lose all unsaved. Big deal, I wasn't running any program and had nothing to save.

Anyway, I shut down in different modes - just using puter, being on line, and just plain shutting down. After about 3 times I haven't had the nuisance stuff come back. So I'm doing fine and wife isn't unplugging puter to shut down.

Thanks everyone for the help. I think the uninstalling 1.4 and installing the "little fix" helped get the problem solved.
