Hi

Uninstall Spybot temporarily. You can install it back when we've got the machine clean :)

Start hjt, do a system scan, check (check those 017 entries only if those are not your internet service provider's addresses):
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{0D7BC38B-2622-4060-87CD-E1703838F2A1}: NameServer = 208.67.220.220 208.67.222.222
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{26BA20FE-8B0D-4681-8CD2-8D2C1DB57137}: NameServer = 208.67.220.220,208.67.222.222
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{2E02B1EA-F5FC-4D92-AB70-9250A8F8C3C5}: NameServer = 208.67.220.220,208.67.222.222

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{E44E589E-5376-49C9-825C-08F731DCF1C1}: NameServer = 208.67.220.220,208.67.222.222

Close browsers and other windows. Click fix checked.

Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the quotebox below into it:

Registry::

Save this as
CFScript

http://users.pandora.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/CFScript.gif

Refering to the picture above, drag CFScript into ComboFix.exe
Then post the resultant log.

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Please run an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner (http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/kws/kavwebscan.html). You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, click Yes.
The program will launch and start to download the latest definition files.
Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
Now click on Scan Settings and select the following:
Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
Extended (If available, otherwise Standard)
Scan Options:
Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases
Click OK.
Under
select a target to scan
, select My Computer.
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. As it scans your machine very deeply it could take hours to complete, Kaspersky suggests running it during a time of low activity.Once the scan is complete:
Click on the Save as Text button.
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information into your next post if the AV content will fit into one post only. Post a fresh hjt log and above meantioned ComboFix resultant log too.

I have deleted the Spybot S&D floder that had the undo files comtaining the zips of previously fixed problems and it looks to me that the only place that has bad file s now is in the System Restore Points. Is this correct?

Once again, many thanks for your assistance.

Hi

Among those in system restore there are a couple of other files that must be removed.

Delete following files if found:
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe.tmp
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\StripSaver_116.EXE
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fmprsnpd.dll

Before we clean system restore could I see a fresh hjt log, please? :)
