spybot causes my computer to shut down [Archive]

When i run Spybot I get a weird error message (something about errors.include); when the scan finishes I amm presented with GREEN usage tracks to fix (cache, history, log). When I "fix" the logs, the computer will suddenly shit down and restart. Then I see a mesage telling me the computer has recovered from a "major error": Microsoft help and support tells me it's a driver error: advises doing a system restore> I did a system restore and tried s&d again: SAME PROBLEM. I asked advice in the forum: it was suggested that perhaps s&d is infected. The only software I have downloaded recently is FileZilla; also the latest version of C Cleaner. I also run Norton Internet Security 2008. I have done several antivirus scans from norton and found nothing. Ditto Windows Defender. The advice on the forum was to do a kaspersky scan; run s&d in SAFE mode; do a Hijack this scan: the results of which are posted below.... have not attempted any fixes from kaspersky or hijack this

yes, i ran a s&d scan in safe mode: and again about halfway thru' I got the error message and again at the end I got the green usage tracks...but no red tracks this time... I didn't 'fix" the tracks thinking that probably the same thing would just happen again... I have run spybot dozens and dozens of times without incident: I've never seen the error message, but also I never see GREEN tracks (until this week).... the green log tracks that are causing the problme are something, i think, to do with either start up or shut down (maybe is it possible when I go to clean up the tracks the comp. thinks I need to shut down???).... in fact I tried running the safe mode s&d scan overnight, thinking that this a.m. I'd be presented with the scan results: No, the scan had basically paused and I had to click OK on the weird error message so the scan could resume.

Should I simply uninstall spybot and then download a new version??? And what should i do with my hijack this scan results; i still have that page sitting open minimised in my tray
