I'm using my brother's login and may have him respond for I can not use much of my computer at the moment.
The issue is controling windows, can not install anything only getting blank screens. Drives are not functioning very well, if at all. Can not read any emails, they only appear blank.

HJT was run and results are:

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

You are infected, I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
This can be a tough infection to remove so do not expect fast or easy.

Chris, I want to be truthful with you, you have some nasty trojans to deal with here, have a look, the last one is no doubt a trojan, but information is limited:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\spools.exe
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/spools.exe-22320.html

C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\lsass.exe
http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2004-100519-0947-99&tabid=2

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msnbm32.exe
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=msnbm32.exe&btnG=Search

This is probably not all that is there either, I see markers for a vundo infection that may or may not have been removed. To start, I believe you need this information to be safe, as I said, the one trojan has so little information available, I am not sure what it is after.
A Backdoor is a software program that gives an attacker unauthorized access to a machine and the means for remotely controlling the machine without the user's knowledge. A Backdoor compromises system integrity by making changes to the system that allow it to by used by the attacker for malicious purposes unknown to the user.

One or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.
This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and Download and Execute files
I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.
Though the Trojan has been identified and can be killed, because of it's backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451

When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063

If you want to clean it, let me know, I can probably help you do that.

Thanks...Phil

Good morning Chris, and thanks for the feedback. You said:

Drives are not functioning very well, if at all
I am not sure if that is a sign of a hardware problem (which I can not help with) or not. From what I see, it could be a maintenance problem, and we will cross that bridge when we get to it. Let's start with the antivirus/firewall situation, have a read through this information.

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/nav.nsf/docid/2000031316555206
"Microsoft recommends that you have only one anti-virus program installed on your computer."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/12/03/AR2005120300087.html
http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/article.asp?article=articles/2003/s1407/38s07/38s07.asp

Here is what I see, and I will need your help with this. We need to have one antivirus and one firewall only.

C:\Program Files\BitDefender\
http://www.bitdefender.com/PRODUCT-2194-en--BitDefender-Antivirus-2008.html
We need to be sure that is what it is, since it has an antispyware program also, which we need to know as we consider what is installed.

C:\Program Files\McAfee\

C:\Program Files\Symantec\

So...your brother is running three antivirus programs and as you read, many problems can be caused by this. Start by choosing one to keep, and in Add Remove programs, uninstall the other two. Once you have one antivirus program running, then move to SDfix.

Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally post the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Thanks

Thank you again for your help

Thanks for the feedback, as you can see in the HJT log, McAfee is still there.
(I am assuming you are going to use BitDefender) SDFix got some of the malware, we will attempt to get the rest manually, but first, here is the tool that should take care of the leftover McAfee.

McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool
http://www.majorgeeks.com/McAfee_Consumer_Product_Removal_Tool_d5420.html

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\ <<< update Java as soon as possible
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2

Moving on to attempt to remove the malware manually:

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Disable the Service
Click Start > Run and type services.msc
Scroll down to Windows NetBalance Monitor and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

(if you use these re-directs, leave them. HP or aohell usually put them there)
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://ie.redirect.hp.com/svs/rdr?TY...rio&pf=desktop

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows DLL Loader] C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\lsass.exe
O9 - Extra button: PokerStars - {3AD14F0C-ED16-4e43-B6D8-661B03F6A1EF} - C:\Program Files\PokerStars\PokerStarsUpdate.exe
O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\RunApp.exe
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.com - {B7FE5D70-9AA2-40F1-9C6B-12A255F085E1} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming\PartyPoker\RunApp.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: efcawtr - C:\WINDOWS\
O20 - Winlogon Notify: fdeuvkif - C:\WINDOWS\
O20 - Winlogon Notify: wlxiwp - WLXiwp.dll (file missing)
O23 - Service: Windows NetBalance Monitor (windows netbalance monitor) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\msnbm32.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) Right click Start > Explore and navigate to these files/folders and delete them if there.

(this is VIP, we will clean the Temp stuff again with the cleaner next, but that file (lsass.exe) must go from your computer. Delete the contents if that Temp folder (a few old files may stay) but be sure that file is gone!)
C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALSETTINGS~1\Temp\lsass.exe <<< that file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\msnbm32.exe <<< delete that file

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log and some feedback, how does the computer run.

Thanks

I was unable to find lsass.exe in C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALSETTINGS~1\Temp\lsass.exe. I only found it in C:\windows\system32
C:\windows\system32\dllcache, and one in backups. I did all the other thing and the computer is running programs that didn't on the weekend.

Thanks for returning your scan results, proceed like this.

1) Kaspersky says this is a trojan: http://www.emsisoft.it/it/malware/?Trojan.Win32.Delf.bps
I would delete that whole download and caution folks about what they download.
C:\Program Files\BitComet\Downloads\AnyDVD HD 6.3.1.2\AnyDVD HD 6.3.1.2\uninstaller.exe ------> Trojan.Win32.Delf.bps

2) C:\SDFix\ <<< delete that folder and the contents

3) Empty the Recycle Bin on the Desktop

4) Follow these directions to clean infected System Restore files.

Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Reboot

Turn ON System Restore,
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

The next KOS should be clean, no need to post a clean scan.
