Hello, just like everyone else it seems I too am having trouble with this awful virus. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to this & very frustrated with computers at this point.

You are infected, I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
This can be a tough infection to remove so do not expect fast or easy.

This is at least a Vundo infection, before we can start, you have posted your HJT log in safe mode. Post a new HJT log in Normal Mode, post all HJT logs in Normal Mode unless I rquest otherwise.

Remove any old copies of combofix before you proceed.

It is important that it is saved directly to your Desktop

Download ComboFix from Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log and a new HJT log.

I am having trouble completing the ComboFix. The whole scan will take place, the computer will restart, and then after nearly 20 minutes the notepad opens up and it says: "Cannot find the file C:\Docume~1\EricaM~1.Lop\Locals~1\Temp\log.txt file

combofix is the tool that finds and removed the infected files, unless you run it, posting a new HJT log is worthless, it is the same log you posted last. Please read the tutorial I posted in the instructions carefully, then delete the copy of combofix and download a new copy. Be very sure you follow the directions to Save combofix to the Desktop and run it from there.

I deleted my old version of combofix and downloaded the new one from the link you provided. I downloaded the XP service pack recovery console & everything. It performed the whole scan again and the same message popped up. Am I missing something?

We will give it one more try then try something else. The malware may be blocking combofix. Please look at what Shaba tries here. You only want to look at Shaba's post #2. Then delete combofix and download it again using the example, rename it as suggested, then give it a try to see what happens.

Thanks for returning that information and your hardwork to get combofix installed. Ufortunately, it did not remove what I thought it would but we should be able to use the tool.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/public-beta/ATF-Cleaner.exe
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open notepad and copy/paste the text in the codebox below into it:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post the combofix report, a new HJT log and some feedback from you, how is the computer running?

Okay I think I'm seeing some progress. The internet is much faster & I can finally access different webpages. The only problem I had was that when I did the HJT system scan the first one I had to check that began with "O2-BHO-{0247... " was not one of my options to check off. Is this okay?

Remove combofix, C:\qoobox\quarantine\ folder from your computer.

Run Kaspersky Online Scan using these settings, there is no need to post a clean scan.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
