Unkown infection - crashing on scans and immunizations

For a while now, the computer has been crashing during Spybot scans and immunizations. I cleaned it out to make sure it wasn't overheating, and I changed the error responses away from "restart", so at this point I'm pretty worried that it's an infection. A family memeber mentioned that yesterday some form of spyware warning appeared on the screen right before it restarted. I'm using the latest version of Spybot, which while I keep updated, I'm unable to immunize or scan with.

Anyway! Here's my hijackthis log, using v2.0.2. I think that's the latest.

Any help provided would be wonderful.

Can you assure me this is a valid, safe program:

It is always good to post any error message, or "spyware warnings" to provide clues, the HJT log is showing nothing in the way of malware. To continue the search for anything that may be hidden, start like this.

1) Read the directions

2) Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner <<< check link

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.
