Hello.

My father accidentally had a virus detected on his computer while browsing a website. I'm not sure how and why, but at startup the virus starts and the background was set to something that looks like:

Warning!
Spyware detected on your computer!
Install an antivirus or spyware remover to scan your computer!
Then really weird stuff happens, such as a random screensaver that shows bugs eating the desktop.

Also, the internet is random and sometimes doesn't work.
When it does work, it sometimes goes to random websites and it's impossible for me to download anything on that computer this way.
I am using a different computer to post.
I can provide more information if necessary.
Thank you!

Oh, the virus is called:
not-a-virus:Adware.Win32.AdBand.ac
...or at least that's what Comodo says.

Hi

Download and install TrendMicro HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe)
* Once installed open HijackThis by clicking Start > Programs > HijackThis and click the button labeled
Do a system scan only

* Click the scan button in the lower left hand corner of the interface and HijackThis will quickly scan your system.
* Once the scan is complete the scan button will now read save log. Click this button to save the log file to your PC. Once you select where you would like to save the file it will open in your systems default text editor. Typically this application is Notepad. Post the log here. :)

Nevermind.
I fixed the virus.
I just used Linux to delete the files.
Pretty easy, actually
Thanks for helping anyways :]
