I downloaded Spybot 1.5.2.20 a few weeks ago and every time I have run S&D since then there are no problems found. Not so much as a cookie.

I've run Ad-Aware - it found tracking cookies.

Might I have something wrong in my settings?
I don't believe my PC is that clean.:)

Hello,

Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy and switch to "Advanced mode" via the menu bar item "Mode" and select "Settings" --> "File Sets" in the left bar. There, please right-click somewhere into the list and choose "select all available checks".
If still nothing is found you have probably activated the resident protection of Spybot - Search & Destroy that is blocking the baddies from getting into your system.

Also please have a look at this link on our homepage:
Why do other anti-spyware applications detect so many more tracking cookies?

Thanks. Everything was already checked, but I did what you said anyway.
Starting S&D now.

maggeye:

Spybot's immunization process blocks the same tracking cookies as the Spybot's scan detects. That may be the reason you are not detecting tracking cookies with Spybot.

Spybot does not block nor detected all tracking cookies. Which most likely the reason you are finding some with Ad-Aware.

There is another way to prevent the storing of Tracking Cookies, even those that Spybot doesn't block and possibly some that even Ad-Aware doesn't detect. See:

It has just finished and still nothing.
I'll accept that it's OK, it just seemed odd that it was since I downloaded the later version.
I took your advice on that link.:)

md usa spybot fan, I hadn't seen your post. I will look at that link too.

I do like Spybot, but I don't run it as often as I should because it takes so long and slows everything else down.
