Error: unins000.dat...does not exist...cannot uninstall

Today I uninstalled SpyBot 25mb, but now I get an error message when I attempt to uninstall S&D 1.5.2.20. Sth about C\Window uninst000.dat does not exist, cannot uninstall.

If it doesn't exist why is it listed in my Add/Remove programs? It shows 12mb. If it isn't there why is it there? And if it is there, why can't I remove it.

After years as a SpyBot fan, the user experience of S&D 1.5..2.20 has been a major negative for me. I previously posted about this regarding the changing of another users desktop. Never got a permanent fix, hence, so long SpyBot.

I just wanted something to remove tracking cookies. I didn't want to become a computer genius to run this software.

Any help is appreciated.

Perhaps your uninst000.dat is missing.That happened to me before.

Maybe I need to understand the workings of S&D better than I do.

Maybe I'll check back after the next update has been offered.
