After/during (not sure exactly when) a complete scan using Adaware, I was prompted by Spybot (1.5.2.20) to either allow or disallow a change to something in the c:\windows\system32 directory.
When I later restarted the computer I was given the error message:
Error in C:\WINDOWS\system32\{36579637-e8ed-ee42-bd3d-79e96f1a0e9d}.dll missing entry:DllInit
I then opened Spybot and clicked the Recovery button to reverse my decision, but there were no entries in the Recovery area. It is completely blank.
Could AdAware have deleted this?
Any idea how to correct this problem?

SquidBeak:
Spybot recovery files are only created if you do a "Fix selected problems" within Spybot after doing a "Check for problems" within Spybot and even then some minor changes such a the deletion of tracking cookies are not backed up.
What you may have encountered was a TeaTimer registry change dialog.
Although you indicated that you did a complete scan with Ad-Aware, you did not indicate if you fixing problems detected when you received Spybot dialog. Were you and what if anything were you fixing? What was the content of the Spybot dialog that you received and how did you respond?

Yes, I think it was a TeaTimer registry change dialog. I hate to sound like an idiot, but I'm fairly sure I denied the change. The only options were to either allow or deny the change. These spybot dialogs come up from time to time, usually when installing a program, and always when any type of registry change is attempted.
This is the only Spybot dialog that appeared. I hope that gives you something to go on.

Hello,
Please read this information about TeaTimer:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/33.html
and http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/34.html
If you surf the web and without any user interaction the teatimer pops up and warns about a registry change it is better to "deny", but if you install something by yourself it is OK to "allow" the change.
The tutorial (point 8) on our homepage should also help explaining:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/tutorial/index.html
in order to undo your change please right-click the Resident icon in the system tray "Spybot S&D resident" and select "Settings". There you will find 4 lists for remembered decisions (allowed/denied processes and registry changes). In order to remove an entry just click on the cross next to it. TeaTimer will then "forget" this decision and you will be asked again the next time.
Best regards
Sandra
