Nothing works properly...

There are registry keys missing and some are disabled (and I can't open regedit) so I can't install any antivirus software. I had AVG but that got infected so I uninstalled it but loads of my files are in the virus vault (infected) and I need them to run the computer. Also Avast! antivirus wont open so thats no use and my norton wont install!

...and then...kaspersky online scanner doesn't work in my IE because the javasript doesn't work or something, neither did the Panda online scanner because it said I didn't have the right system requirements, and neither did the Norton online scanner....What should I do?!?!....Is there anyway of fixing it or fixing anything at all......? My computer is 'walking' slowly >_>

I've tried EVERYTHING. I don't know what to do now!!...Is there a way I can like remove everything off it?? (I don't have the disks anymore)
Also, I keep getting Chkdsk errors and runtime errors...Too many errors!!!!

Thanks so much I really appreciate it!...

Hi peanut

Click here (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe) to download HJTInstall.exe
Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
Click on Install.
It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT use the AnalyseThis button, its findings are dangerous if misinterpreted.
DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

If HijackThis doesn't work, please rename it and try again :)

Hi

Well that doesn't tell anything. Which virus is in those files according to AVG?

peanut
2008-05-30, 19:48
AVG is uninstalled...I only have the virus vault file but not the application to start it so it can't tell me what viruses I have...but, when I downloaded 'graboid video player' that was when AVG poped up with some trojan and moved the files to the vault, but, apparently AVG had some problems with their database (and graboid video was supposed to be a virus)...It was a 'false positive' so AVG was wrong about the virus with graboid video... but AVG stopped working so I must have had some other viruses ... so I uninstalled AVG but my files are all in the vault:sad::sad: (then i used Avast! and that got rid of a different trojan but it wont open, the file must be in the virus vault ....and they're probably not infected!!!OMG!! im stuck!!!I like, cant believe my luck >_>

Hi

Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it. Save it to your desktop.

Link 1 (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 2 (http://www.forospyware.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
Link 3 (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii277/sUBs_/combofix/CF_download_FF.gif

http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii277/sUBs_/combofix/CF_download_rename.gif
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt along with a HijackThis log so we can continue cleaning the system.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Hi again.

I downloaded it and changed the name but it came up with an error when I opened it:

'Windows cannot find C:\WINDOWS\regedit.exe'

Shaba

Hi

I see.

Download this (http://andymanchesta.com/Files/regedit.exe) and save it to C:\WINDOWS.

After that, please try again :)

peanut
2008-05-31, 13:21
Ok...well, the error doesn't come up anymore, but after combo-fix loads it doesn't come up either. I restarted windows and downloaded a fresh copy but no change.

Hi

1. Move Combo-Fix.exe file from your desktop to root of C: drive (C:\). That way we can access it on every account.

2. Try running ComboFix through in safe mode with command prompt. Here are steps to follow (print/save these since you won't be able to access them while in safe mode):
Press F8 before Windows' loading screen and select safe mode with command prompt -option.
Then write following commands (I assume you moved Combo-Fix.exe to C: root):

* cd\ (enter)
* Combo-Fix.exe (enter)

When ComboFix reboots select safe mode with command prompt again so that ComboFix will finish there.

And let me know if it works now :)

Hi

Well CD is needed as some files need to moved from it to your HD.

Why you don't have CD?

peanut
2008-05-31, 18:24
Oh crap, I'll never find those cd's:fear:My bro is careless, they are gone...so...I guess that means it can't br fixed then.

Can't I copy the file from another computer?...If I could install AVG then I could restore it but there is a registry key that is damaged and it won't delete or rename so AVG can't install because of it >_< ...I tried the AVG forum but you have to have installed AVG already to register from there.

Well, thank you for your time, I really appreciated it!! :)
