Assistance Needed

Hi,

I have posted in another thread of the spybot forums. Tashi, a member of the spybot team, suggested that I post my problem here. If you want details on the specifics of this problem it is located in the Google Toolbar thread.

To summarize, my computer has behaving very VERY strangely of late, slow connections, difficulty closing and opening new browers, registry changes, etc. I do have cable high speed internet connection but my computer is moving slowly. Here is the HJT log which I just ran on my computer.

hjt log looks ok as far as malware goes. looks like you have two AV. two is not better than one in this case. i would remove one via add/remove programs panel. spybot coming up clean after a scan? windows defender?
are you using defenders real time protection component, if so you might try disabling it or spybots tea timer, see if that helps

The AVG is going to expire in two days, after that it will just be MacAfee's latest version. As far as Window's Defender? It runs itself, I think. When I turn on the computer I get a balloon saying my computer is running normally ans that a scan is done in the early morning hours-always at the same hour each morning. The only thing spybot comes up with now is excite and that is because I went into spybot's settings- via a tip I read on spybot's forums- to allow excite since I need to check the email there. I know how excite can be but I don't think that is the cause.

Have you ever experienced a browser screen going white? Also the cursor taking on the hour glass and remaining that way for many second to minutes? This happens to me often especially when I am working on things regarding my website. I think it is due to spyware/malware as this has been going on since long before I installed spybot.

i really wouldnt wait for it to expire. two active resident AV will only chew up resources and conflict with each other. reboot afterwards if you do a uninstall.
start defender and under tools>options uncheck the box: use real-time protection. if it is checked that is.
