hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, recently my desktop with XP home edition was infected with worm.win32.netbooster virus which i got rid of using AVG; however, now i cannot access my C or D drive, and on the start up menu, there is no ALL PROGRAMS option, or the RUN option. I have installed and run ad-Aware antispyware which says my system is clean, but still i get a lot of pop ups when i browse the internet, btw am using IE. Also, there was a constant msg VIRUS ALERT! on task bar besides the clock which i managed to get rid of by changing the regional time settings..do i have to do anything else for this?? all help will be appreciated
many tx

Hi

You may have missed BEFORE you POST (READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288) sticky ;)

Download and install TrendMicro HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HJTInstall.exe)
* Once installed open HijackThis by clicking Start > Programs > HijackThis and click the button labeled
Do a system scan only

* Click the scan button in the lower left hand corner of the interface and HijackThis will quickly scan your system.
* Once the scan is complete the scan button will now read save log. Click this button to save the log file to your PC. Once you select where you would like to save the file it will open in your systems default text editor. Typically this application is Notepad. Post the log here. :)
