Help I am new. Started getting pop-ups. Installed Spy Bot and got over 50 pages of Error during Check!. The last page listed two or three items which I removed/deleted.

During the scan, Virtual Memory flash on the screen stating that it was adjusting the virtual memory was low.

I ran a Hijack This report. I don't have a clue on what to do. Do I have a virus? Help.

Thanks a million.

Hello,

Which version of Spybot do you run?

Best regards

Spybot 1.5.2.

I have installed Malaware and Ccleaner. I ran the Malaware and have several items quarantined. I have not run the Ccleaner cause I am not familiar with this software.

I have reviewed over and over several members' posts with problems similiar to mine, including the forum faq document.

I need help, step by step. I am afraid I will delete something I am not supposed to delete.

I have uninstalled spybot this morning.

Thanks for all the help. and Sandra, thanks for your quick response.

I know everyone is busy. But I need some direction. Do I post a Hijack log? Or do I reinstall Spybot?

Remember the 50 pages of Errors! Maybe I should post this on another thread.

I will re-read the forum directions. Thanks...and hopefully soon I will connect with someone.

Oh, also, today there is a popup with the filename: 67.*****.ad.php?gametype..........flashing on my screen periodically telling me that I have a virus or new screensavers that I can purchase.

I have quarantined My Web Search in Malaware. Are the two related?

My start-up processes are huge and takes a long time boot up. Need help in deleting some of them.

Thanks and sorry for being so computer illiterate!!! :)

Why would you uninstall Spybot-SD? Have you scanned with Spybot and took a look at what it found? Have you attempted to remove the entries?

Basically CCleaner cleans the cache, temp. files, and other "gunk" from your browsers. It's more like a all-in-one.

The link above will describe it's features.

---------
From your descriptions you are infected (the numerous pop-ups).
Also about the memory... were you running other programs during the scan?

Thanks for your reply.

I unistalled spybot after having read of a similiar problem to mine and the suggestion in that post was to unistall and then re-install, which I did. To no avail. Still got the over 50 pages of errors.

And yes, all those processes were running during the scan. I would like to delete or fix them but I am clueless when it comes to what all those processes mean. I am afraid I may delete one that is crucial to performance of computer.

Thus my request for help and step by step guidance.

So Spybot is installed?

Give some examples of the entries Spybot found. I can't help you if I don't know what's on your computer.

To clarify, are you experiencing random pop-ups?

Also, in your previous post you asked about the start-up programs... do you know how to use "msconfig"?

And yes, all those processes were running during the scan.
What were those processes? Have you attempted to tell Spybot to fix the found entries?

Error During Check!: SpywareStrike[15] (Access Violation at address 006108C8 in module 'SpybotSD.exe'

(or) Error During Check!: UnSpyPC [30] (Access Violation at address 006108C in module 'SybotSD.exe'

There is about 50 pages of these types of errors. All of them say Error During Check . The only difference is the name that that proceeds may say Startguard or TrustCleaner or ContraVirus or etc. All of the errors say Access Violations at address ****** in module of SpybotSD.exe

On one of the spybot pages it listed:

FunWebProducts: [SBI $724750D4] Program Directory (Directory, nothing Done)
C:\Program Files\FunWebProducts\Screen Saver

5 more entries follow of FunWebProducts

MyWay.MyWebSearch

7 entries follow of MyWay.MyWebSearch

I fixed the entries above with Sybot then uninstalled the program due to the Error problem. It also took about 30 minutes to perform the check. When the Spybot was running the check the virtual memory warning flashed stating that it was low.

I then ran Malaware and it found the Adware:MyWebSearch. The log says that it is quarantined and delted successfully. However I still am getting the pop-ups.

I am not familiar with Msconfig except to open it and look at what is there. There are alot of processes running in the Windows task manager.

I get pop-ups when I am on the internet. However, this morning I got one and was not connected to the net.

Should I attach my HijackThis Log or Malware log for you? I hope that I have clarified things for you. Thanks.....

The sign of a offline pop-up indicates a infected system. Do not post a Hijack log here.

Consider posting in the Malware Removal (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link to run scans and produce a HijackThis log: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) ( http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288).

Even though Spybot has caused me problems with the numerous Error During Check, I should follow the instructions you have kindly pasted for me and reinstall it? Along with the Kapersky's online Scanner?

Should I paste a link to our conversation here in this thread so they can see what is going on?

Thanks.

I don't see why would you reinstall it without reason. Your Spybot-SD is at the latest and there's nothing wrong with it.

The Kaspersky scan is too let Malware Experts on this forum to analyze the data on your computer and see/find out what is going on.

The Kaspersky scan is not for me to look at.

Follow my directions in the previous post.
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=200347&postcount=9

Post a thread with your Hijack log in the thread. A Malware Expert will help you ASAP.

Also, have you tried using CCleaner?
