Trojan Horse [Archive] - Safer-Networking Forums

I've been hit with a few Trojan Horses within the last few days. Found by AVG:
A0017033.exe
A0017034.exe
A0017035.EXE
Autoplay.exe
AUTOPLAY.EXE
They are currently in the virus vault. Silly question, but is it save for them there or should I have it emplied. Also AVG is asking to upgrade to AVGm 8.0, doing so will it store what is there, or is it best to remove/unload AVG 7.5 first?

Spybot was not able to find anything.

Hi Jay, once the junk is moved to the vault (quarantine) it can no longer harm you. the vault gives you a last chance to return files in the event of an error. If you are ever in doubt if a file is bad, here are free online scans you can use:

I have AVG 8 (free) installed on two computers and unless I miss my guess, your version expired 5/31/2008 and you no longer get updates. If you intend to keep it, I would update, here is a link to the download:

The only other issue I see in the HJT log is a out of date Java program:

Thanks for the advice. Didn't realize that my Java was outdated (again).
I am updating to AVG 8.0 was just unsure if the old stuff (in the vault) was kept.
