View Full Version : Where's Safer Networking listing SB-S&D's file integrity details?

Since neither the mirror sites or safer networking's own download site are affording the 'luxury' of the current SB-S&D's file details such as size, created/modified dates and/or MD5, something, anything so users have some kind of assurance they're not installing a botched or worse SB-S&D install, maybe besides answering those individuals asking what such might be, perhaps the moderators might post a stickey.

Meanwhile, looks like I'll have to count on being able to contact safer networking and that they reply back.

urrguru:

Spybot's download page (which points to the Mirror selection (http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html) page), clearly and succinctly states the expected MD5 of the installation file (spybotsd152.exe):
Downloads - The home of Spybot-S&D!
http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html

Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.2 - product description
md5: CC91B89CE4EBA400BAED4F626487D579

Application to scan for spyware, adware, hijackers and other malicious software.

Also: Improved integrity checks (http://forums.spybot.info/project.php?issueid=249), probably up with next weeks update.

In post #14 (http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=200718&postcount=14) of this thread:
What do your SB' files show?

urrguru (http://forums.spybot.info/member.php?u=2592) states:

... I also see now their website at least lists an md5 for all their products, tools and updates. Maybe they're going to also begin disclosing file sizes so users also know the files are being completely downloaded and are not otherwise indicated as corrupted. ...
