Version is 1.6 beta
XP SP 3

I recognised that spybot blocked pcsleek.com and detects pcsleek free error scanner as malware.

I believe that this is an false positive.
The detected errors are to specific to be "common".
And removal is possible too - for free.

Whatever it is classified as, PCSleek keeps attacking and unlocking my HOSTS file to remove itself from my list of forbidden fruit.
I can find no reference as to its removal/uninstallation from my machine but from its activity I consider it imperative to remove the product; it insinuated itself onto my XPPro SP3 machine without my knowledge.

Has anyone the same experience and the answer to removal? Taking out Registry entries has no effect. It is very busy but its actions are uncertain and I do not consider an invisible error/registry cleaner is healthy for obvious reasons. What will it bring in next?

Further info. Try to reach the PCSleek site at www.pcsleek.com and there is nothing; they cannot be contacted... but, hey, there is a direct link to ALEXA TOOLBAR web information service and a dose of ID Computer Spy, picked up and removed fortunately by XoftSpy and Spyhunter both.

Last time I started Free Error Cleaner HOSTS file was not "attacked".

I tried to check for new version and wondered about an error.
After that I check HOSTS file using S&D and detected entry.

An impress is not needed in there.
US sites mostly have no impress. (I like german laws ^^)

Whois entry is invisible.

And the links are just ads.
I couldn't find a link to alexa.

Siteadvisior also don't think that this site dangerous.

Although this post probably does not belong in a thread in the New or undetected (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=17) forum (particularly in one marked "Fixed"), I would just like point out the following thread as suggested reading:
Registry Cleaners, not recommended
