Greetings! I am new to this forum, as I am also new to the problems of malware. Here are the details:
I have used spybot for a while and find it to be quite effective. However, there is this recurring problem I have had over the past few weeks with popup ads, etc...and though spybot claims to have fixed it, it keeps coming back scan after scan.
The problem is "CoolWWWSearch.Feat2Installer"...upon further review of the problem, spybot lists "Autorun settings (guarnset), HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\guarnset. I scan, spybot removes, I scan again, it comes back. Ahhhh! Please help, as I have always been able to avoid spyware/malware up until now. It is very much appreciated. Be advised that I am also new to Microsoft XP.
