I tried to install Spybot and what ever I have wont let me install it. I've also ran a hi-jack this scan but it wont allow me to create a log file it immediately shuts down notepad. I also cannot go to the symantec website, I get redirected to a yahoo page instead. Please help me this is my boss' laptop I need to get it fixed by the end of the day.

I haven't really done anything to clean the system as I am not too familiar with spyware. I generally just build computers for my company and run spybot to clean up any spyware or malware. My boss came to me with his laptop and said fix it. Pretty much where I'm at.

As per the sticky our volunteer helpers generally do not clean company machines.
Tools may be downloaded for one thing, and there is no indication the employer has given permission to 'fix it' in a public forum.
Also you have not addressed why there was no follow up to your previous topic, earlier this month. :)
