View Full Version : Anyone ever hear of "Infostealer"

My antivirus program picked up something called Infostealer,,I can clean it or quarentine it,,everytime I open anything I get a pop virus notice. This thing keeps multiplying itself,,any hep would be greatly appreciated but please remember I'm not very good with computers to begin with,,,thanks all.

InfoStealer is just as it's name sounds.
Apparently, it's a trojan with "steals" sensitive information from the compromised computer.

What is your OS? How about the brand of your AV? You use a firewall?

Sorry about the lack of info,,use window XP,,Norton Corporate A.V.,,,firewall is Zone Alarm

You said Norton Cooperate Edition. Is this like somewhat a workstation, like multiple computers?

Or is this a personal computer? You mentioned Cooperate Edition, so I'm assuming it's a workstation.

Is ZoneAlarm updated?

Are you still having trouble with InfoStealer? If you have the time, update with the latest definitions and run Norton with a Full Scan. If not boot and SAFE MODE and fire it up :cowboy:.
