I recently updated my Spybot detections and afterwords I began having a problem with ACDsee 8 hanging when indexing a folder. I know that there are listings for various ACDsee products in the detections database. is it possible that Spybot and / or Teatimer could have disabled something that ACDsee needs to run correctly?

I tried disabling Teatimer and rebooting, as well as re-installing ACDsee, but neither has had any effect. Any ideas?

I'm running Spybot v1.4 on Win XP Pro64

Is this the product you are talking about?
ACDsee (http://www.acdsee.com/)

I do not see how Spybot maybe conflicting with this photo application.

I took a look at detections database. Yes, ACDsee is detected but as a tracks entry. In other words it's more like a MRU or a cookie from your browser. MRU stands for Most Recently Used.

You can easily disable this detection.

Also, you are using a dated version of Spybot-SD. Please upgrade to v.1.5.2.20. Download from SaferNetworking's servers:

First, disable SDHELPER and TEATIMER. Undo the immunization. You can immunize after the upgrade is complete.

Thanks for the reply.

The problem ended up being a registry corruption issue caused by the crash that required manually deleting some stuff before it would reinstall properly. I appreciate your help in ruling out the Spybot update as a cause. Thanks again! ~Cthippo

Glad to be of help.

I would suggest you download the latest version of Spybot-SD (1.5.2.20) just to be on the safe side, so no further problems will occur.
