:euro::hair:Hi,
I would like to know if anyone could tell me if my system is infected.After scanning with AVG anti-virus the results show up to 215 "infections",all of which start with HKLM\software\Internet Explorer\Active X compatability.......Trojan,adware,downloader etc. Avg removes and quarenteens them but when i reboot/start up again and scan again then the same results occur.Included is the result of the hjt scan.
After scanning with Spybot no infections are found,so do i have a problem?
Any help would be gratefully received,

You probably use SpywareBlaster. It's entries are falsely flagged as bad ones. Your log is ok.

many thanks for that,yes you are right,i do use spyware blaster.Should i remove it or leave things as they are?
I use AVG anti-virus 8.0(free version),xoftspy,spybot,CCleaner,Ad Aware 2007,Glary registry repair,windows malicious software removal tool,cwshredder and windows firewall.Am i being too paranoid about all the nasties out there or can i remove some of this protection or indeed do you recommend anything that i dont have?

Hi Mick

You may decide whether or not you want to keep SpywareBlaster. If you decide to keep then you just have to remember that those findings are not bad ones.

I wouldn't recommend using registry cleaners. In worst case those can cause more damage than give advantage. Windows XP firewall is not good enough. It's recommended to replace it with some 3rd party firewall. See here (http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/#firewalls) for some free alternatives.

sorry its taken me a while to reply,work nights and have had no chance to thank you sooner for your help.Have followed your recommendations and installed Comodo firewall.Things should be more watertight now.
