I'll hope that post got in a right place and that you will understand my unprofessional english.

Ayway my problem is that by the few last weeks, computer programs, like explorer.exe; firefox etc. just stoped working, everything freezed. Yesterday firefox shutted down several times by cliking my own forums administrator's page , by now there is no problem of that.

Almost every day, explorer.exe shuts down. And i have to log off my user to acctually navigate in my computer again. Last month i didn't have such problem.

I afraid that i have some virus or spyware. I tested computer with AVG and Ad-aware but nothing. Outpost firewall's spyware scanner founded 2 threts and removed 1 of them. Made new scan and then it founded nothing.

But i'm afraid that my problems aren't solved. Maybe tomorrow programs start shutting down again, so i'm looking for advise what to do.

One of my buddies suggested to post a Hijackthis log in this forum and so i am going to do that, maybe i get some awnsers.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I do see some junk that should go, let's clean and remove the junk and see what happens. If this sounds good to you, follow these directions in the posted order.

1) Check to be sure this information is valid for you: http://www.whois.sc/194.126.115.18

2) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.

3) ewido scan:
Please download Ewido Security Suite (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/) it is a trial version of the program.
Install ewido security suite
Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
On the left hand side of the main screen click update
Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.
Ewido manual updates (http://www.ewido.net/en/download/updates/)

Once the updates are installed do the following:
Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
Click Save report.
Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
Now close ewido security suite.
**(Ewido for example has been flagging parts of AVG Anti-Virus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk")

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.accoona.com/search_assist...paign=wdz0605a

O16 - DPF: {15AD6789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://static.windupdates.com/cab/Me.../bridge-c9.cab
see this >>> http://www.spywareguide.com/product_show.php?id=1148

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.
http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Windows\Prefetch\ >>> delete the contents (NOT THE FOLDER)
Prefetch info: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Gaining-Speed-Empty-Prefetch-XP.html

If you don't have a good cleaner, use this one with these instuctions:
Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp
Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do.

Restart the computer and post the ewido scan report, a new HJT log and your comments. How is the computer running now?

Thanks...pskelley

Well i think i did exacly same, what you told me.

I've putted logs into links, because otherwise it reaches over the character limit. But the downloading site is trustable so there would be no problems to download them.

Ewido found 313 threts. I ignored them all. Because i wasn't sure what to remove. Maybe i do something wrong.

Here are Ewido log and HJT log.

Ewido:

http://www.fileupyours.com/files/13435/Scan%20report_20060316.txt.txt

new HJT log:

http://www.fileupyours.com/files/13435/hijackthis2.log

Comments:

Right now everything looks fine. It's only matter of time to realise, did it really work.
For now, thanks for the awesome help! If i get at same problems again, like today, i will report it. But i must say that computer is a bit faster. If those logs i've psoted here, that some files must me removed, then please tell and i may remove them, if it is nessesary.

You ignored everything ewido found, please run it again and delete everything located unless you know it is not bad.

Copy and paste both the ewido scan report and a new HJT log just as you did with the first HJT log. I do not open attachments. If you need to, break the logs into multiple posts.

Thanks

Thanks for the new information, your HJT log looks fine, here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:
http://boards.cexx.org/viewtopic.php?t=957
http://russelltexas.com/malware/allclear.htm
http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=14
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topict2520.html
http://cybercoyote.org/security/not-admin.shtml

The ewido scan was not able to delete these two items:
C:\Program Files\WAV to MP3 Encoder\VVSN_MTHR0504Inst.exe/VVSN.exe -> Adware.SaveNow : Error during cleaning
C:\Program Files\WAV to MP3 Encoder\VVSN_MTHR0504Inst.exe/VVSN.exe -> Adware.SaveNow : Error during cleaning
a google for VVSN.exe returns this: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/VVSN/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/VVSN.exe-6144.html you can also look here:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-26,GGLD:en&q=VVSN%5FMTHR0504Inst%2Eexe
I have no idea what that program is, but it appears to convert files, and it looks like some of them were infected.
My suggestion would be to start your computer in safe mode: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html
Then navigate to the files above I have highlited in red and delete them. You can run another ewido scan at that point to make sure none of the adware infection is left.

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

Post again if you feel you need to, but if all is running well once you remove that last junk, then safe surfing to you:bigthumb:

Thanks...pskelley

Thanks for the advise!
I've just deleted the last thret that was left from the last test.

But just before reading your post, my programs freezed again(firts it was Game Maker, when i shut it, then freezed firefox and after shutting that, freezed explorer.exe. Finally i had to do another log off). Wierd. Maybe i have to scan memory or free some memory that is unused. Or it is just some hardware false. I don't know, but it is certainly unusual.
But i have to admit, that this experience, what i got here, is useful. I've learned a lot and i got rid of lots of spyware. I think it's definitely a progress to me :). Thanks.

Here are a few things to try. Since is not malware it gets harder to troubleshoot. I don't know what this is:
Game Maker, but try uninstalling it and reinstalling. Especially since the freeze occured what you used it.

To make sure one of you system files is not corrupted, use System File Checker:
Click Start>Run, type in sfc /scannow, hit Enter.
Note: there is a space between sfc and /scannow
This should replace any corrupted/missing system files and will hopefully fix things. You will need your XP disc in your CD drive for this.

Here are some other ideas that may help:
