Hello there,

I recently had my online games passwords hacked and did my best to clean up what I could. Symantec claims that I'm virus free, but I'd like to guarantee the safety of my login info before using my computer once again. The Kaspersky online virus scan said that C:\WINDOWS\system32\soni32drv.dll (a file which I could not find) was infected with Trojan-PSW.Win32.OnLineGames.arjb

Please give me some guidance to clear up this infection!

I am not seeing any malware in this HjackThis log. I do see a slightly out of date Java program that I would keep up to date if I were you. see this:

Let me be candid with you, if you had a trojan on the computer that could steal passwords to games, that trojan could have stole any information, credit cards, banks, anything it wanted and since that is usually a backdoor trojan:

These are the most dangerous, and most widespread, type of Trojan. Backdoor Trojans provide the author or ‘master’ of the Trojan with remote ‘administration’ of victim machines. Unlike legitimate remote administration utilities, they install, launch and run invisibly, without the consent or knowledge of the user. short of a reformat, there is never going to be a way you can be 100% sure the trojan has been completely removed. Symantec might say you are clean, but trojans like this can only be seen by rootkit tools and some hide so well, they can not be seen at all, which is why reformat is the only sure way.

Thanks! I went through the Kaspersky online scanner and it definitely said that the file was infected with the trojan. I deleted it, restarted and it thankfully didn't reappear. I will plan on reformatting this upcoming weekend when I get the chance. In the meantime, I have been using (and will continue to use) my laptop for my internet needs.
