My computer is infected by Virtu Mondo

I have a malware program that is identified as virtu mondo or virtu monde by the anti-spyware programs. Virtu Mondo re-installs itself as soon as it is removed. How do I find and remove the re-install program?

Thanks for the HJT log, and you do indeed have the Vundo trojan, but there is other junk also. I want to remove the trojan first, then we will tackle the rest. Since this junk seems to attract more, I suggest you stay offline as much as possible until you are clean.

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will shutdown your computer, click OK.
Turn your computer back on.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Good job killing that Vundo trojan:bigthumb: I suggest you do this now.

1) I see ewido onboard, open the program and choose update, allow time for it to finish. Now click scanner then complete system scan. Allow ewido to remove anything it locates unless you know it is not bad. Save that scan report, I must see it.

2) Windows Defender is new and it may block the HJT fix? If it does, turn it off until you are finished with HJT.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Do you own ewido? If not...ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I followed your instructions but the winfixer installer is still there. In fact, I used HJT to 'fix' it and ran an scan immediately and it was still there.

Hi, isn't winfix fun? I showed you the uninstaller a couple of times so you have to know what it looks like in the log, it must be deleted.

It is set to run everytime you start up. HJT is a process manager and it will stop the process so you can delete it if you do it right after checking and fixing it with HJT like this:

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.

Now it may be running from somewhere else, that is why I had you run CCleaner and empty the Prefetch. Here is a small tool that will help you with this, as soon as you empty the Temporary Internet Files, then execute this tool and follow the instructions.

OK, great job:bigthumb: that was one of the toughest Winfixer lines I have seen. I was going to suggest: http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm which is an excellent free register editor if you did not get it soon. The HJT log is now clean. I already gave you the links to help you stay that way.

ewido is a great program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
