Hi, I'm infected by a nasty thing that resisted everything I've tried so far. Kaspersky 7.0, Spyware Doctor and Spybot S&D don't see anything.
The symptoms:
- every time I browse through the explorer or open a control panel window, etc, a pop-up appears saying: "Attention [name of my computer]! Some dangerous trojan horses detected in your system. Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium files corrupted. This may lead to the destruction of important files in C:\Windows. Download protection software now! Click OK to download antispyware. (Recommended)". Of course I click "no" but this directly leads to the opening of Firefox 3 on that page: http://free-viruscan.com/id/4912933/4/1/.
- I can't reach some web sites I can reach usually. For instance the french home page of Spybot. At least one web site (www.clubic.com) began to look horrible, and in the end I was redirected to a shopping site... However I deleted everything (cache, cookies, etc) in Firefox 3 (I don't use IE at all, but I'm sure it's infected too) and this symptom is fixed.
So I've googled "free-viruscan". The first result is a Yahoo answer thread that tells to download a removal tool from www.malwareteks.com. It is indeed a good advice, the tool found some things and deleted them. Also, it seems to have fixed all the problems according to a lot of Yahoo users. But obviously the spyware has been "updated", and this doesn't work (fully) for me.
That's it, in short I don't know what to do anymore...
