hmmm.. Virtumonde FTL

well, lets see... i have been working for the last 5 hours trying to figure this out, and have had to go through many things. Noticed teatimer kept asking to add something and i kept saying no, finally started lookin real suspicious. ran mcafee virus. found nothing. ran sb s&d, found virtumonde, deepdiver, 5 entries total i think. cleaned, rebooted, checked, cleaned robooted, said clean. i did this with net unplugged. Then i started noticing that i cant open web pages, like i get a redirect to blank search pages etc. couldnt even search for hjt. had to figure out how to network my win95 laptop so i could download hijackthis through the network onto this comp. You guys are my last hope before i do a nice reformat :P

Please uninstall Spybot for now to make sure TeaTimer won't interfere fixing. You may reinstall it after system is clean :)


A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.


1. Download combofix from any of these links and save it to Desktop:

Link 3 (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you (C:\ComboFix.txt). Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.
