Please uninstall Spybot for now to make sure TeaTimer won't interfere fixing. You may reinstall it after system is clean :)
A word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.
1. Download combofix from any of these links and save it to Desktop:

Link 3 (http://subs.geekstogo.com/ComboFix.exe)
**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you (C:\ComboFix.txt). Post that log & a fresh hjt log in your next reply
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
Combofix should never take more that 20 minutes including the reboot if malware is detected.
If it does, open Task Manager then Processes tab (press ctrl, alt and del at the same time) and end any processes of findstr, find, sed or swreg, then combofix should continue.
If that happened we want to know, and also what process you had to end.

Please download *Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware* (http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe) to your desktop.
* Double-click *mbam-setup.exe* and follow the prompts to install the program.
* At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to *Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware* and *Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware*, then click *Finish*.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select *Perform full scan*, then click *Scan*.
* When the scan is complete, click *OK*, then *Show Results* to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click *Remove Selected*.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\*log-date.txt*
* Please post contents of that file in your next reply.
Download *Deckard's System Scanner (DSS)* (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/Deckard/dss.exe) to your *Desktop*. Note: You must be logged onto an account with administrator privileges.
1. *Close* all applications and windows.
2. *Double-click* on *dss.exe* to run it, and follow the prompts.
3. When the scan is complete, two text files will open - *main.txt* <- this one will be maximized and *extra.txt*<-this one will be minimized
4. Copy *(Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C)* and paste *(Ctrl+V)* the contents of *main.txt* and the extra.txt to your post.

Which I had completed up until Downloading * Deckards System Scanner.
Shall I just ignore what I have done and continue with your post? Or shall I continue with Shaba's post and post up the log report?, or shall I run another HJT Log for you?

I run the updates, which tells me they are all up todate. However, now it's giving me a warning to say I haven't run the scan since end of April. (which I have- and even running the scan it doesn't remove the warning or change the scan last run date. So there is obviously a problem there?

Yes it looks like so.
But fortunately only AS part (antispyware is outdated) and not antivirus.
If you have version 1.5, right click the Spybot Icon in the system tray near the clock (looks like a blue/white calendar with a padlock symbol).
Click once on Resident Protection, then right click the Spybot icon again and make sure Resident Protection is now Unchecked. The Spybot icon in the System tray should now be now colorless.
Go to Start > All Programs > Spybot - Search & Destroy > Spybot Search & Destroy.
Click on Mode > Advanced Mode. When it prompts you, click Yes.
On the left hand side, click on Tools.
Check (tick) this box if it is not yet ticked: Resident.
You will notice that Resident is now added under Tools. Click on Resident.
Uncheck (untick) this box: Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) active.
Exit Spybot Search & Destroy.
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
Please make sure that dss.exe is on the desktop.
Click Start > Run and copy and paste in "%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /daft
Click OK.
Click on Scan.
When the scanning is done, check (tick) all the boxes (or the list of extensions below) and click on Fix..reg

Right-click your favourite browser and choose Run as administrator.
After that:
Please go to Kaspersky website (http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html) and perform an online antivirus scan.
Read through the requirements and privacy statement and click on Accept button.
It will start downloading and installing the scanner and virus definitions. You will be prompted to install an application from Kaspersky. Click Run.
When the downloads have finished, click on Settings.
Make sure these boxes are checked (ticked). If they are not, please tick them and click on the Save button: Spyware, Adware, Dialers, and other potentially dangerous programs
Archives
Click on My Computer under Scan.
Once the scan is complete, it will display the results. Click on View Scan Report.
You will see a list of infected items there. Click on Save Report As....
Save this report to a convenient place. Change the Files of type to Text file (.txt) before clicking on the Save button.

See below for my suggestions :)
Now that you are clean, please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
Your Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malware can use to infect your system. A malicious site could render Java content under older, vulnerable versions of Sun's software if the user has not removed them. Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components and update: Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7 (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) and save it to your desktop.
Scroll down to where it saysThe Java SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications..
Click the Download button to the right.
Select Windows on platform combobox and check the box that says:
Accept License Agreement. Click continue.
The page will refresh.
Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel, double-click on Add/Remove Programs and remove all older versions of Java.
Check (highlight) any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6u7-windows-i586-p.exe to install the newest version.
Next we remove all used tools.
Please download OTCleanIt (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/oldtimer/OTCleanIt.exe) and save it to desktop.
Double-click OTCleanIt.exe.
Click the CleanUp! button.
Select Yes when the "Begin cleanup Process?" prompt appears.
If you are prompted to Reboot during the cleanup, select Yes.
The tool will delete itself once it finishes, if not delete it by yourself.
Note: If you receive a warning from your firewall or other security programs regarding OTCleanIt attempting to contact the internet, please allow it to do so.
Disable and Enable System Restore. - If you are using Windows Vista then you should disable and re-enable system restore to make sure there are no infected files found in a restore point.

Make your Internet Explorer more secure - This can be done by following these simple instructions:
From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
Click once on the Security tab
Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
Click once on the Custom Level button.
Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.
Update your AntiVirus Software - It is imperitive that you update your Antivirus software at least once a week (Even more if you wish). If you do not update your antivirus software then it will not be able to catch any of the new variants that may come out.
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com (http://www.windowsupdate.com) regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.
Install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware - Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is a new and powerful anti-malware tool. It is

Install SpywareBlaster - SpywareBlaster will added a large list of programs and sites into your Internet Explorer settings that will protect you from running and downloading known malicious programs.

Update all these programs regularly - Make sure you update all the programs I have listed regularly. Without regular updates you WILL NOT be protected when new malicious programs are released.
Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

MVPS Hosts file (http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm) <= The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer
