You need to uninstall the software first.

And then on reinstalltion uncheck the box that installs the feature. :)

Ugh. That means I have to reconfigure Spybot. Grr. Why wasn't there a toggle switch to enable/disable it? :( I hope v1.7 will have it.

There isn't any toggle on/off feature unfortunately....

Thanks. :) Future versions need a GUI way. :)

Curious to know why you would like to disable? You don't find the feature helpful?

Try this. Do a long scan and do another scan, then it crashes. Scan takes forever sometimes.

Are you talking about right-click scans?

Are you talking about right-click scans?Yes in Windows Explorer.

Okay, I see what you mean about taking forever. My initial scans were on smaller 10-50mb files. Those scans seemed to be normal times. But when I scanned a 390mb folder, it was insanely long... I had to quit. But I have not had any crashes.

Is that right click scan a different scanner or something? If it is, then how come we don't have this slow scan in SpyBot v1.6?

Spybot's full scan (from within the app) does not scan all the files on your drives. It looks for specific files in specific places and in specific registry entries.
The right click scan, of course does scan the files or folders you've selected

is meant for only small files, such as a folder you put all your downloads in, saved ims, word docs, etc. It is not meant as a full scanner, therefor it takes longer time because it throughly looks at the individual file for a long time before going to the next one.

Agreed... it seems to be meant for smaller files. And that is how I have used it and will use it in the future. I think it is a pretty cool add-on. I'm glad v1.6 includes this capability.

the right click in explorer scans, finds detections, then what? it does nothing, offers me no fix of error files no options at all. just close.....

what use is the scan if i can't delete the files without searching for them manually....

anyone else think this is wierd?

you have a point. I find that weird as well...i see no hidden option or right click or anything that would delete an infection.........hmmm......
