why isnt the old hostsfile backups made by spybot STILL not removed by spybot 1.6? they are in this folder: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

i have 18 hostsfile backups from spybot in the folder, and so many backups is unnecessary. the folder is growing and growing and just takes up space. there maybe isnt all spybot users that know where the folder is and are able to delete the old backups.

In response to your previous query (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=206584&highlight=backups#post206584) concerning deleting HOSTS file backups, PepiMK (http://forums.spybot.info/member.php?u=1) indicated in this post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=206835&highlight=backups#post206835) that he would look into including it in Spybot 2.0:

@blues:
1. Good point on backups. We probably should combine all types of backups in 2.0, so that we could put a global "age" for them.

2. If it would be on the wizard, many 2000 users would disable it without knowing what it is about probably. What are the chances that users who actually need this service would blindly disable it, and suddenly have no connection? Rumors on that service are various. Are there any Microsoft recommendations that this file could be safely disabled?

3. See 1., it's probably best to get some combined data storage solution instead of implementing this in various different locations right now.

i didnt notice that he mentioned that it maybe will be included in 2.0
i thought he ment it will be included in 1.6

so i didnt notice it.:oops:

then i will delete them right away, i thought that spybot 1.6 maybe has deleted them but when looking in the folder they were still there.
